The group ENHYPEN is set to unveil a new song after about five months.
Belift Lab announced on the 31st through the global superfan platform Weverse that "ENHYPEN (Jungwon, Heeseung, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Niki) will release their digital single 'Loose' at 1 p.m. (Korean time) on April 4th."
'Loose' is a track characterized by a trendy pop sound and sexy melody. With ENHYPEN standing as a 'K-pop top tier', expectations are high for what new charm they will showcase.
ENHYPEN drew attention from fans the day before (30th) with short-form content that hinted at the upcoming song release. The video showed ENHYPEN members gradually becoming loose, expressing the song title 'Loose' with their bodies, raising curiosity.
ENHYPEN has expanded its global popularity with explosive growth. Their second studio album 'ROMANCE: UNTOLD' surpassed 3 million cumulative sales in February, marking ENHYPEN's first 'triple million seller.' Additionally, 'ROMANCE: UNTOLD -daydream-' set a record for the highest first-week sales of a repackage album in K-pop history, with 1,406,926 copies.
ENHYPEN's albums sold over 5.45 million copies just last year, which is the third-highest figure among K-pop artists. Building on this momentum, ENHYPEN showcased their strength by ranking the highest among K-pop artists in the '2024 Global Album Sales Chart' and the '2024 Global Album Chart' published by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).
The group's music also gained popularity on major global charts. The title track from their second studio album, 'XO (Only If You Say Yes),' made its debut on the U.S. Billboard 'Global 200' and 'Global (excluding U.S.)' simultaneously upon release. Furthermore, it was included in Rolling Stone's list of '100 Best Songs of 2024.' The media praised the song as "evidence that ENHYPEN is not afraid to push artistic boundaries."
Meanwhile, ENHYPEN is set to perform at the largest music festival in the U.S., the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, on the 12th and 19th of next month. This marks a milestone for them as they will be the K-pop boy group to perform at this festival in the shortest time since their debut.
