Coupang Play announced the first solo concert in Korea of global hip-hop legend Kanye West (hereafter 'YE').
On the 29th, Coupang Play revealed that it will present the 'YE (Kanye West) concert in Korea 'BULLY' in partnership with Coupang Play' on May 31 at Incheon Munhak Stadium. This performance will be YE's solo concert held for the first time in 9 years after the 2016 world tour and will be the stage to first showcase the live performance of the new song 'BULLY' to Korean fans.
'BULLY' demonstrated overwhelming popularity by reaching No. 1 on Apple Music's hip-hop and rap music video chart and Google Trends search after the unfinished version 'BULLY V1' was released on the 22nd, even though it is not yet a formal audio release. Expectations are also rising for the birth of another mega hit song alongside YE's glamorous comeback.
YE, known as the hip-hop 'GOAT' that needs no modifiers, is a legend in the hip-hop scene with 24 Grammy Awards and is a globally top-tier artist. He has released numerous hit songs, including 'RUNAWAY,' 'STRONGER,' and 'CARNIVAL,' with global album sales reaching approximately 140 million copies. After a listening party last August in Goyang, where fans enjoyed his music, YE is set to meet Korean fans this May through a solo concert featuring a rich performance from new song debuts to his classic hits.
As a brilliant musician and producer, YE has made a mark in the hip-hop scene, and he has also shown a distinctive presence in fashion and the arts based on his trendy sensibility, making him a beloved icon of popular culture. Last year, he was named one of 'The Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century' by Billboard and has been selected twice for Time magazine's '100 Most Influential People in the World.'
Ticket sales for the YE concert in Korea organized by Coupang Play are set to take place in April.
