The program "I Want to Know That" revisits the crimes of teacher Myung Jae-wan, who murdered an elementary school student.

On the 29th, SBS "I Want to Know That" will track down the reality of teacher Myung Jae-wan, who brutally killed a first grader at school.

On February 10th at around 4:30 p.m., a driver from an art academy arrived at a school in Daejeon and pressed the intercom at the entrance as usual. They were there to pick up first grader Kim Ha-neul, who was staying in the care classroom. However, Ha-neul did not come down that day. When the driver pressed the intercom again 10 minutes later, the teacher in the care classroom replied that the child had already left the classroom. Ha-neul had disappeared.

After receiving the news, the parents hurriedly ran to the school and began searching inside and outside with the police. They had installed an app on their child's cellphone that could listen to ambient sounds in case of an emergency, but only suspicious breathing from an adult woman could be heard, which increased their worry. Disturbing news soon came to the parents, who desperately hoped it was nothing. Ha-neul was found stabbed in the school's audiovisual room.

A horrific tragedy occurred inside the school. The perpetrator, who killed young Ha-neul, only a first grader, by stabbing her multiple times, was a middle-aged woman who had made suspicious breathing sounds near the child's cellphone. The woman, who was found lying next to Ha-neul with self-inflicted injuries, was transported to the hospital, and the confirmation of her identity added to the shock. The assailant was none other than the school's teacher, Myung Jae-wan.

Ha-neul had been with her friends just 10 minutes before the incident. Ms. Myung had prepared a weapon in advance and hidden it in the audiovisual room, then lured Ha-neul, who was last to leave the first-grade care classroom, to kill her. How could such a horrific crime occur in a place that should be the safest, a school? Why did Ms. Myung cruelly murder Ha-neul in this way?

Students and parents who had gone through 25 years with Ms. Myung remembered her as a kind teacher. Why did she transform into a murderer? It is reported that she took sick leave for depression treatment during the last semester and subsequently applied for six months of medical leave. However, she suddenly applied for reinstatement after 21 days, which was accepted, and she committed the crime just a week after returning to work in February this year.

Could it have really been due to depression? What is the reason behind Ms. Myung, who had taken sick leave, hastily applying for reinstatement, and why was her reinstatement easily granted? Ms. Myung reportedly exhibited bizarre premonitory symptoms even before the crime. Were there no points or methods available to prevent the murder? Will parents' concerns about sending their children to school ever be alleviated?

SBS "I Want to Know That" will be broadcast on the 29th at 11:10 p.m.
