Rising star Hwang Ji-a transforms into a bright high school girl.
U+Mobile TV and U+TV's 'First Love' will feature six episodes as an omnibus music drama, telling different love stories of eighteen boys and girls. With promising new actors and idol stars active both domestically and internationally, it is a work that received attention from local officials after an exclusive showcase held at the Tokyo Film Market (TIFFCOM) last year.
Hwang Ji-a will appear in the second episode of 'First Love,' where a prickly model student helps an exchange student with their bucket list. In the drama, she will play the role of 'Kang Ha-na,' an exemplary class president with excellent academic performance and as a helper for exchange student Hikari (Cha Jun-ho). The story aims to portray the sensitive emotions and realistic experiences of teenagers going through stormy times, enhancing the immersion in the work.
In 'First Love,' Hwang Ji-a will portray a calm and determined mature high school girl, raising expectations. In particular, her emotional tear-jerking performance in the previously released 'First Love' teaser video has garnered attention, and curiosity is growing about what kind of friendship and love she will depict.
Actress Hwang Ji-a, building a diverse filmography with delicate and authentic performances in each character, has previously made a strong impression on global viewers as the young Hong Hae-in in SBS's 'Why Oh Soo-jae?' and Disney+'s 'I Will Start the Defense' and 'Criminal Records.'
Moreover, having won the Best Actress Award at the 12th Seoul International Children’s Film Festival for last year’s film 'Moonwalk,' Hwang Ji-a is attracting industry attention, and anticipation is building for her new appearance in the upcoming high teen romance drama 'First Love.'
Meanwhile, 'First Love,' featuring Hwang Ji-a, will premiere on April 18 (Friday) at 3 p.m. on U+Mobile TV and U+TV.
