Singer and actor Kim Jaejoong, active on 'Convenience Store Restaurant,' shared his thoughts on becoming the 'first idol grandfather.'

On the afternoon of 27th, a press conference for KBS 2TV's entertainment program 'Convenience Store Restaurant' was held at the KBS Art Hall in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Present were MC Boom and fixed panel members Oh My Girl's Hyojeong, Chef Lee Yeonbok, 'Chef Jeonghyeon' Lee Jeonghyeon, Kim Jaejoong, and Lee Sangwoo, who discussed the program with PD Yoon Byeongil under the guidance of announcer Kim Jinwoong.

Kim Jaejoong is showcasing his exceptional cooking skills as the 'Chef Jeonghyeon,' the youngest son of a family of daughters on 'Convenience Store Restaurant.' In particular, he has become a grandfather with many older sisters who are becoming grandmothers and is referred to as the 'first idol grandfather,' creating laughter on the show.

In this regard, Kim Jaejoong noted, "Originally, Boom hyung said that I might become the first idol grandfather, and that is now becoming a reality," and added with a smile, "The joy is the greatest," expressing his delight at meeting his grandnephews and grandnieces healthily.

However, he commented, "So the pressure regarding marriage and dating from those around me is becoming more intense. I want to focus on my work, but the pressure from my parents has surprisingly diminished through 'Convenience Store Restaurant.' I'm actually very grateful for that," he chuckled.

He continued, "On the contrary, if the age group of my fans used to be mostly in their 50s, many people are recognizing me these days. My parents are not pressuring me, but they do say things like 'You should get married soon' when we pass by restaurants. I am feeling that kind of pressure." This resulted in laughter from those around him.

Kim Jaejoong added, "It seems that many people didn't know that I cook well. Now that many have recognized it, I feel I should take it more seriously than a hobby and study harder with curiosity."

In response, Boom chimed in, "We have been congratulating him from behind. Becoming a grandfather is a globally celebratory event. I thought it would be great if my grandfather looked that good, even if I were a baby, so I congratulated him a lot. He is the K-grandfather," further adding to the laughter.
