YouTuber and broadcaster Pungja 공개ed the process of her gender confirmation surgery for the first time.

On the 12th, the YouTube channel A급 장영란 posted a video titled 'The unbelievable life story of 'Pungja', the queen of entertainment, first released (+ school years, gender confirmation, 장영란 fainting).'

On this day, Pungja, who appeared as a guest, caught attention by revealing her journey of finding her gender identity from her childhood and the process of her gender confirmation surgery.

In response to a question about her gender confirmation surgery, she noted, "This is the first time I’m talking about this. I’ve never talked about my surgery before."

Having had the surgery in her early 20s, she recalled, "I suffered a lot because of this surgery. I was lying in the operating room, and just before the anesthesia, I was told that the surgery could not be done. When I entered the operating room, my limbs were all tied, and I was shaking a lot. Because I was so nervous, my blood pressure went up, and my heart rate was off the charts, and they said, 'This cannot happen; I feel like I might die.' They said that due to the anesthesia policy in other countries, they wouldn’t proceed due to my blood pressure."

She eventually returned to Korea empty-handed after losing all her living expenses, saying, "In fact, it wasn’t about the money, but I was consumed by the thought, 'Will I not be able to undergo surgery in the future?' I cried every day over that thought. Then, I decided to look into it again, and after some research, I rescheduled my surgery in Korea. There were others who had already undergone surgery, and people around me asked, 'Are you nervous? Are you okay?' but I had no worries. At that time, I was too excited. I was really looking forward to it."

She explained, "On the day of the surgery, I left at 5 a.m. I was grateful for those who helped me. I had written down my phone password in case anything happened, and I wasn’t scared at all. I said, 'Even if I die today, I have no regrets.' Usually, the surgery takes about 9 to 10 hours, but I lost so much blood that I came out after 14 hours."

Moreover, she said, "In fact, such a major surgery requires a painkiller for at least about three days, but I was in so much pain that I couldn’t get a single shot. I lost too much blood and had to be transfused, but I couldn’t receive morphine during the transfusion, so I endured everything unmedicated." She added, "I stayed in the hospital for about a month and thought the world was my world at that time."

In response, 장영란 asked what she did first after the surgery, and Pungja shared, "Is it okay to say this? I wore pants without panties for the first time. Leggings. I stood in front of the mirror for an hour. I felt like I had completed all the assignments I needed to do in my life, and I was so happy."
