Singer and actress IU confessed to renouncing her inheritance on 'Salon Drip 2.'

On Nov. 11, the web entertainment program 'Salon Drip 2' was released on YouTube, featuring IU as a guest. She shared updates about herself and talked about her new Netflix series 'Pop Ssak Soksuda' during the conversation with the host, comedian Jang Do-yeon.

That day, IU generated laughter by noting that she is introverted but well-known in the entertainment industry. She revealed, "In reality, there are about 4 group chats," emphasizing the existence of a group chat with her family.

She stated, "Our family is a large family. There are about 12 members. Due to family circumstances, I lived with my cousins since I was young. While we don't share the same last name, I consider them my real sisters. Both of my older sisters are married and each has one child. We also have mom, dad, grandmother, myself, and my younger sibling."

She continued, "Even within the family, there are roles that each person takes on. When my younger sibling says something, I always have a sharp response. That's our role," adding that "family skits are a part of our daily life."

In particular, IU remarked, "I tell my younger brother, 'You really need to be filial. When our parents pass away, will you leave an inheritance for me? Since you will inherit everything anyway.'" This added to the laughter.

When Jang Do-yeon asked, "Will you really not receive an inheritance?" IU replied, "It seems they have no intention of leaving me anything financially."

She shared, "I actually asked my parents once how they would divide the inheritance. My dad said, 'I'll divide it equally among the four of you.' So I just said, 'I'm fine, just exclude me and divide it into thirds.'"

Meanwhile, IU was reported to have purchased a luxury APT. in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, for 13 billion won in 2022, and owns a studio in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, for 4.6 billion won, as well as a separate house for about 3 billion won in an undisclosed location in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province.
