Actresses Kim Young-ok and Nam Moon-hee talked about their experiences with unintended leftist controversy.
On the 5th, the MBC program 'Radio Star' featured actresses Kim Young-ok and Nam Moon-hee discussing their experiences with leftist controversy.
Kim Young-ok and Nam Moon-hee, who have maintained their friendship for 64 years, showcased their close bond, drawing attention. Nam Moon-hee said, "I can tell just by looking at her eyes. But if she makes a mistake once, she repeatedly embarrasses herself on air," making the audience burst into laughter.
Nam Moon-hee said, "But we don’t have any major fights." Kim Young-ok responded, "Who would dare to fight in front of me? We are four years apart. We have been calling each other older sister and younger sister since we first joined MBC."
Nam Moon-hee recounted, "Someone called me a leftist the other day. I went on a program hosted by Kim Eo-jun to promote a film. I said Kim Eo-jun looked good, and then they called me a leftist. Someone began calling me persistently. I thought the world was truly terrible."
In response, Kim Young-ok said, "Because you are close, they say, 'How come Kim Young-ok and Nam Moon-hee are like that?' We don’t know about leftists or rightists. It just saddens me that the country is so chaotic."
Kim Young-ok said, "Didn’t we endure that terrifying war to reach today?" Nam Moon-hee noted, "Our history is really long, but we haven’t practiced democracy for long, have we? I wanted to talk about this today."
Meanwhile, Nam Moon-hee said she once played the mother of actor Lee Dae-geun, who is two years younger. Kim Young-ok responded by saying she acted as Nam Moon-hee's mother in the past, bringing laughter.
Nam Moon-hee discussed her past work dubbing voices for actresses Marilyn Monroe, Mia Farrow, and Sophia Loren. She said, "When we dubbed, foreign actors used natural vocalization. At that time, we had many artificial vocalizations. I broke away from that and produced a natural sound."
Nam Moon-hee said, "At that time, the protagonist was either Nam Moon-hee or Kim Young-ok without exception." Kim Young-ok mentioned she voiced various male lead roles in animations. She stated, "The two of us must have been pillars at MBC."
Kim Young-ok said, "We had an exceptional sense. Even though we didn’t practice much, there were only the two of us who didn’t miss it." Nam Moon-hee added, "Thanks to the skills we honed over a long time," eliciting laughter.
