Taiwanese actor Wang Da-lu (王大陸·34), who was under suspicion of evading military service, is now reported to be under investigation for attempted murder. Wang Da-lu is a well-known actor in Korea for films such as 'Our Times' and 'It Started with a Kiss.'
According to local media such as the Liberty Times on the 4th (local time), Wang Da-lu was recently arrested by police on suspicion of attempted murder. He is accused of instructing an acquaintance to assault a taxi driver last year. In April of last year, Wang Da-lu called a vehicle through a ride-sharing platform at Taiwan's Taoyuan International Airport.
During the process of traveling in the assigned Tesla vehicle, he had an argument with the driver, claiming he was dissatisfied with the driving route. The friction continued even after they arrived at the destination. After exiting the vehicle and leaving his belongings behind, Wang Da-lu reportedly did not know how to open the Tesla door and knocked hard on the window. It is said that he clashed with the driver, exchanging insults.
Subsequently, Wang Da-lu had an acquaintance assault the driver. It is reported that the driver suffered severe injuries during this incident. This case came to light during the prosecution’s investigation into Wang Da-lu’s military evasion allegations. Prosecutors found video footage of the assaulting incident and related materials on Wang Da-lu's seized mobile phone. Wang Da-lu is said to have shown the footage to others.
Wang Da-lu was arrested last month on the 18th for allegedly paying a broker 1 million Taiwan dollars (approximately 44 million won) to receive a false medical certificate to evade military service. He was later released on bail after paying 150,000 Taiwan dollars (approximately 6.5 million won). He was scheduled to enter a military training center in Taichung, Taiwan, on the 13th for one year of alternative service.
