Director Yang Chi-seung recalled the time he felt guilt after his parents passed away.
On the broadcast of MBN's 'Talk Show Dongchimi' on the 1st, they discussed the theme 'Being born as a child and living as a parent.'
Yang Chi-seung confessed that he had a hard time during his childhood due to his violent and incompetent father. His mother was busy day and night because of his father's economic incompetence. So, Yang Chi-seung thought that he would prefer to be an orphan.
Yang Chi-seung said, "One day my mother called. She usually doesn’t call in the morning, so it felt very strange. She said my father had passed away. At that moment, my heart felt very light. I feel so sorry, but for a while, I was at peace and suffered from guilt."
Yang Chi-seung said, "After leaving the army, I lived really hard. I never helped at home. When I was in the military, I missed my family the most during training, but I didn’t want my parents to worry, so I didn’t contact them," revealing that he lived independently.
He continued, "During COVID-19, my parents kept asking. I said 'I’m fine.' But my balance kept getting lower. I thought I would have to close the gym. My mom kept asking if I was okay. Then I exploded and said, 'What have you done for me to keep asking? Stop asking already.' I had been taking care of my parents all along. I guess I had stress without realizing it. Seeing them quietly go into their room was very sad. Then the next year, they passed away. I felt so sorry."
