Actor Kang Tae-oh hinted at a friendly competition with fellow 'Surprise' member Seo Kang-joon.
On the afternoon of 27th, the production presentation for tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama 'Potato Research Institute' took place at the Ramada Hotel in Sindorim, Guro-gu, Seoul. Director Kang Il-soo, actors Lee Sun-bin, Kang Tae-oh, Lee Hak-joo, Kim Ga-eun, and Shin Hyeon-seung attended the presentation.
'Potato Research Institute' is a healing romantic comedy that follows the ups and downs of a potato research institute and the life of Mi-gyeong (played by Lee Sun-bin), whose world revolves around potatoes, as a cold principled person Baek-ho (played by Kang Tae-oh) appears and whirls through her life like a spiraled potato.
Kang Tae-oh returned to the small screen with 'Potato Research Institute' after service in the military, which he completed in March of last year. Notably, fellow 'Surprise' member Seo Kang-joon also announced his return to television following military service with the concurrently competing MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'Undercover High School.'
In this regard, Kang Tae-oh said, "Since a while ago, Hyung Kang-joon also started a project, and it accidentally became a competition. Ideally, I hope both projects do well so that everyone watching and participating in the filming can have a joyful time."
He added, "While I'm cheering internally, I will make sure to engage in a friendly competition. Then, when asked, 'Are you confident as a scene-stealer?', he replied, 'I am confident,' raising expectations.
Meanwhile, 'Potato Research Institute' will premiere on March 1 at 9:20 p.m.
