Singer Park Seo-jin has become the second active king of singers.
On the 25th, the final episode of MBN's 'The King of Singing' was broadcast live, where the second round of the finals was held. The active singers who advanced to the final round that day consisted of 10 people.
The stage featured singers in the following order: 0 Hwanhee, 1 Shin Yoo, 2 Kim Soo-chan, 3 Park Seo-jin, 4 Jin Hae-sung, 5 Kim Jun-su, 6 Choi Soo-ho, 7 Kang Moon-kyung, 8 Shin Seung-tae, and 9 Enoch. The total score for the final was 5,000 points, combining 44% of on-site voting (combined for rounds 1 and 2), 10% for public support voting (differentiated scoring from second place), 6% for new song streaming (differentiated scoring from second place), and 40% for real-time text voting (proportional scoring from second place).
Finally, the first place went to Park Seo-jin, who scored a total of 4,574 points out of a possible 5,000. He received the belt symbolizing the active king of singers from the first active king, Jeon Yu-jin. Park Seo-jin expressed his feelings by saying, "I wonder how joyful the brothers in heaven must be," and added, "I will sing even harder." The top 7 included Jin Hae-sung, Enoch, Shin Seung-tae, Kim Jun-su, Choi Soo-ho, and Kang Moon-kyung. Jin Hae-sung, who came in second, reflected on his grandmother, who hadn’t watched the final performance of 'The King of Singing 2,' saying, "Though she couldn’t see it, I still achieved a good result."
The top 7 singers will participate in the 'Korea-Japan Singing Contest,' held as a grand event to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan this year. Unfortunately, active singers Hwanhee, Kim Soo-chan, and Shin Yoo did not make the top 7, but Shin Yoo noted, "Although I have often been told I am quite ambitious for appearing in 'The King of Singing 2,' I approached the selection without shame," inspiring support.
