Actor Kang Tae-oh is returning as a 'cold man' instead of a 'warm man.'

Kang Tae-oh will take on the role of So Baek-ho, the cold-headed director of the Potato Research Institute, in the new tvN drama 'Potato Research Institute' (written by Kim Ho-soo, directed by Kang Il-soo and Shim Jae-hyun), which premieres on March 1.

Kang Tae-oh gained much love for his role as Lee Jun-ho, the perfect man at Hanbada Law Firm, in ENA's 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo,' which drew great attention in 2022. He earned the nickname 'guilty man' for his kind and warm 'pretty boy' qualities.

Returning to the screen after about 2 years and 7 months of military service, Kang Tae-oh will showcase a dramatically changed charm through 'Potato Research Institute.' In the drama, he plays So Baek-ho, a 'cold man' who has no personal life, friends, or compassion. This character triggers layoffs wherever he goes and possesses a cold heart that prioritizes rational thinking and principles.

There are distinct differences not only in character settings but also in style. While Lee Jun-ho showcased casual yet dandy office looks built on warm colors, So Baek-ho will present an overwhelming monochrome suit fit based on his tall physique.

Having shown a diverse acting spectrum through various works such as 'Joseon Rom-com: Nokdu Story,' 'My First Love,' and 'Run On,' much attention is now focused on Kang Tae-oh's new transformation in 'Potato Research Institute.'

The drama 'Potato Research Institute,' featuring Kang Tae-oh, will premiere on March 1 at 9:20 p.m.
