Actor Tang Joon-sang made his first appearance in 'Newtopia,' leaving a strong presence.

The Coupang Play series 'Newtopia' (written by Hanjin Logistics and Ji Ho-jin, directed by Yoon Sung-hyun) tells the story of soldiers Jae-yoon and bear soldier Young-joo running towards each other through the downtown Seoul, which has been attacked by zombies. In the drama, Tang Joon-sang plays a repeating student, showcasing a variety of charms.

In the episode released on 21st, the character of the repeating student who accidentally joins Young-joo (played by Ji Soo) and her group is depicted. When they first met, the group suspected the repeating student, who was injured and drunk, of being a zombie infectee, but the repeating student gained their trust through clear communication skills and joined them.

Tang Joon-sang portrayed the character of the repeating student in a realistic manner, bringing depth to the role with his vibrant acting. His dialogues, which maintained a sense of humor even in life-threatening situations, added to the immersion of the scene and heightened the tension.

In particular, with the unique hypothesis that 'drunk people are not attacked by zombies,' the repeating student emerged as an unpredictable variable. His efforts to maintain his inebriation while fleeing from zombies unfolded bizarre yet comedic scenes, offering viewers a distinct form of enjoyment.

Having made his debut in a zombie genre, Tang Joon-sang perfectly embodied the fresh, unexpected character of the repeating student. He is gaining attention for showcasing a wide acting spectrum through his dramatic transformation in 'Newtopia.'
