The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will hold a 'travelling hanbok store' at AK (AK) & Sejong in Sejong City from the 13th to the 15th, in cooperation with the Sejong Special Self-Governing City and the Korea Craft and Design Culture Promotion Agency.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the 12th, this event in Sejong City will feature hanbok sales, as well as exhibitions and experiences showcasing the beauty of hanbok and Hangul.

In the sales space designed in the shape of Hangul consonants, over 100 types of hanbok products will be sold at an average discount of 40% and up to 80%. In the experience area set up in the plaza, there will also be a 'properly wearing hanbok' event where visitors can borrow hanbok for free to take photos.

On the first floor of the event hall, a total of eight companies, including two located in Sejong City, will operate hanbok stores. Visitors will be able to try on and purchase traditional hanbok, everyday hanbok, and children's hanbok directly on-site. Customers who purchase products will receive gifts such as hanbok fans and Hangul keychains based on their purchase amounts. On the second floor, there are plans to showcase modern interpretations of hanbok.

Additionally, at 5 p.m. on the 13th, there will be an opening ceremony for the event along with an outdoor fashion show. Visitors who verify their subscription to the hanbok store's social media (SNS) will receive a free admission ticket to the 'Hanbok Store' fair taking place at COEX in August.

Lee Jeong-mi, cultural policy director at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, noted, "As this 'travelling hanbok store' is being held in Sejong City, an administrative hub, we hope this event serves as an opportunity for the government and public sector to take the lead in spreading the culture of wearing hanbok."
