The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will hold the international content competition 'Talk Talk Korea 2025' for people around the world from 2nd to August 5th.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the 2nd, this year's competition marks its 12th edition and has grown into a representative Korean Wave content competition that creatively expresses the charms of Korean culture by participants from various cultural backgrounds. Last year, over 60,000 works were submitted from 140 countries, and a total of 80 people, including Mr. Gahir from India, who cleverly depicted Korean communication styles and characteristics in a witty video, were awarded.

This year's competition will include five categories: promotional videos (cinematic videos, music videos, animations, etc., 2-3 minute horizontal videos), art & crafts (painting, webtoons, traditional crafts, calligraphy, etc.), photobooks (creating photobooks using collage techniques), memes & trends (15-60 second vertical short videos), and a special category commemorating the 80th anniversary of liberation (free format).

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism plans to award a total of 300 works through a five-stage judging process consisting of preliminary judging, first and second-round judging, online voting, and final judging. Among these, the 220 works that advance to the second round of judging and online voting will receive participation awards established this year, while the 80 works that reach the final judging will be selected for 1st to 5th place awards.

The five recipients of the first prize in each category will be offered an opportunity to experience Korean culture for 8 days and 9 nights, including airfare. They will participate in various cultural events during their stay in Korea. Additionally, starting this year, the best award winner across all categories will receive the Minister's award, and the first prize winner in the special category will receive a cultural experience in Korea along with a digital product valued at $2,000.

The awards ceremony this year will be held on Nov. 8 during the 'Great Korean Culture Festival,' and the award-winning works will be revealed through online and offline exhibitions at home and abroad.

Chae Soo-hee, Director of Overseas Promotion Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, noted, 'This competition is a place for foreigners to newly illuminate the charm of Korean culture from their own perspective and to communicate across cultural boundaries. I hope that through this special category commemorating the 80th anniversary of liberation, we can share with the world our experiences of understanding Korea's historical situation and inheriting and developing our unique culture despite difficulties.'
