The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization stated on the 30th that they held the opening ceremony of the 'Mongolia Comprehensive Tourism Education Center' on the 29th in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, in collaboration with the Mongolian Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Mongolian Tourism Organization.

The 'Mongolia Comprehensive Tourism Education Center' is the first tourism infrastructure built under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's public development aid (ODA) project in the tourism sector. The ministry plans to support the qualitative improvement of Mongolia's tourism infrastructure through the center and establish a sustainable tourism development model.

The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials from Mongolia, including Minister Noming and Tuvshinzhargal, President of the Tourism Organization. The Mongolian government stated that it would take the establishment of the center as an opportunity to strengthen its tourism competitiveness, announcing a step-by-step implementation plan (roadmap) for Mongolia's tourism policy and a new tourism brand, 'Go Mongolia 2.0'.

The newly opened Comprehensive Tourism Education Center was constructed with a total area of 2,500 square meters, consisting of two floors above ground and one floor below ground. It is equipped with lecture rooms, various practice rooms, conference rooms, and the latest information technology (IT)-based educational equipment. It plans to offer customized training courses for various tourism workers, including tour guides and those working in ger (traditional Mongolian dwellings) and hotel accommodations.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Tourism Organization will support the Mongolian government in gradually operating its own tourism education that utilizes its unique natural and cultural resources. By 2028, they will dispatch a Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) volunteer group to support ▲ strengthening the capabilities of Mongolia's tourism personnel and instructors ▲ enhancing operational capabilities of the Mongolia Comprehensive Tourism Education Center ▲ education for personnel in Mongolian tourism businesses ▲ and raising public awareness of national tourism services in Mongolia.
