The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the Korea Cultural Information Service, will hold the '2025 Cultural Digital Innovation and Data Utilization Contest' from May 14 to July 7 to promote digital innovation in the cultural sector and the use of cultural data.

This contest aims to discover creative ideas, best practices, and data analysis that can solve current issues in culture, sports, and tourism by merging digital technology and cultural data with the public.

This year, in line with the era of artificial intelligence coexistence, a new 'artificial intelligence utilization cases' category has been established, and the evaluation criteria will include 'artificial intelligence usability.' The contest will proceed in four categories: best practices, ideas, data analysis, and artificial intelligence utilization cases.

Anyone who is a citizen of South Korea can participate as individuals, corporations with up to five members, or teams. From June 2 to July 7, applicants can submit their application forms and related documents on the contest's official website.

A total of 17 winners will be selected through a first round of document evaluation and a second round of presentation review, with results announced in August. In addition to the Minister's Award, a total prize of 54 million won will be distributed, and in the 'artificial intelligence utilization cases' category, special awards will be given for one best practice and one idea.
