The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 28th that they will hold a relay 'K-Tourism Roadshow' in cities including New York and Denver to target the U.S. inbound tourism market.
The United States ranks as the fourth-largest inbound market after China, Japan, and Taiwan, with a projected growth rate of 21.5% in 2024 compared to 2023, achieving a record 1.3 million inbound tourists.
The K-Tourism Roadshow kicked off on the 25th (local time) at Cipriani in New York. The event showcased relatively unknown hidden tourist destinations under the theme 'Discover Korea's Hidden Charm.'
The travel mart for Korean tourism held on the same day included 19 institutions, such as domestic airlines, travel agencies, and local governments, resulting in approximately 240 active business consultations with local American travel agencies.
The highlight of the roadshow, the 'Korean Tourism Mini Talk Show,' featured opinion leaders from the local travel industry sharing their personal stories of traveling to Korea.
On that day, Student Universe, a travel agency specializing in educational trips, and Sky Vacations, which developed the first K Vegan travel package, received Korean tourism awards.
Meanwhile, on the 28th, a Korean tourism promotional briefing and travel mart will be held in Denver in partnership with Delta Air Lines. In August, the appeal of Korean tourism is set to be promoted to U.S. opinion leaders and key consumers in Washington, D.C., the political capital of the United States.
