2025 Community Business Recruitment Poster for Tourism (Provided by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism)

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced that they will be recruiting new resident enterprises to participate in the 2025 'Tourism Village' from April 21 to May 22.

'Tourism Village' is a policy project that supports local residents in establishing and continuously operating tourism enterprises that possess unique local characteristics in areas such as accommodation, food and beverage, travel, experiences, and souvenirs.

This year's recruitment seeks communities of three local residents who plan to start a business in the tourism sector or wish to improve management after starting, from five new regions and 22 existing business areas.

The five newly selected regions are Gyeonggi (Yeoju), Gangwon (Taebaek), Chungnam (Dangjin), Jeonbuk (Jeongeup), and Gyeongnam (Hamyang), while the 22 existing selected regions include Busan (Busanjin-gu, Dongnae-gu, Sahagu, Suyeong-gu), Incheon (Jung-gu, Dong-gu, Michuhol-gu), Gwangju (Nam-gu, Buk-gu), and Ulsan (Dong-gu).

Once selected as a Tourism Village resident enterprise, they can receive tailored support for education, field trips, consulting, pilot projects, and legal and tax assistance, up to 110 million won for a maximum of five years. Additionally, local Tourism Village project directors (regional activity experts) will closely assist the resident enterprises in adapting during the initial phase.
