The drama "Resident Playbook", a spin-off of "Hospital Playlist", has been gaining popularity since its release on the 12th.

According to Netflix, "Resident Playbook" ranked 10th in the global top 10 non-English TV shows for the week of April 2 (April 7-13).

"Resident Playbook" depicts the turbulent growth of a first-year resident in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Jongno Yulje Hospital. A day's journey of a first-year resident begins with "I’m sorry" and ends with "I’m sorry". The drama portrays the daily life of a newcomer struggling silently. One wonders if a day will come when it will not be necessary to say sorry.

Four first-year residents entered the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Jongno Yulje Hospital: the "repeat resident" Oh Yi-young (Go Youn-jung), the "dressing fairy" Pyo Nam-kyung (Shin Si A), the "idol-turned-doctor" Eom Jae-il (Kang Yu-seok), and the "perennial top student" Kim Sa-bi (Han Ye-ji). They are assigned to the Obstetrics and Gynecology department with mixed feelings of excitement and worry.

"Thank you in advance," they said with smiles towards their seniors, but their faces quickly changed to expressions of despair. Because they couldn't understand the professor's words, they were kicked out of the operating room, received orders to "stay quiet" from seniors due to ongoing misdiagnoses, and were scolded by a patient who asked, "Can someone like that even be a doctor?" Despite their determination to do well, they found themselves constantly apologizing.

Ultimately, the four friends contemplate whether they should quit being doctors. Oh Yi-young attempts to run away at night with her belongings stuffed into her black backpack. Pyo Nam-kyung feels disillusioned with her pitiful self and escapes by taking a taxi. Kim Sa-bi, who couldn't even properly care for a patient's feelings despite memorizing books and papers, breaks down in tears upon hearing the professor's scolding for the first time.

Despite numerous regrets and pains, they return to the hospital for the sake of the "patient." In the moment she was about to flee, Oh Yi-young hears the broadcast of "Obstetrics and Gynecology code blue" and rushes down to the basement to save a mother. Pyo Nam-kyung also urgently returns to the hospital upon hearing news about a patient she was caring for, Yeom Mi-so.

Now that they have just resolved not to "run away" from the hospital, what kind of doctors will they become? The 3rd and 4th episodes, released on the 19th, depict their significant growth. The internal conflicts and choices they face in becoming good doctors, as well as the process of finding their own answers, are captured. The thrill of discovering cast members from the previous work "Hospital Playlist" is also a viewing point.

Everyone's first experiences are clumsy. However, they can "eventually" become Seulgi. "Resident Playbook" depicts the harsh realities and growth of newcomers in a straightforward and warm manner, giving viewers a gentle resonance. Why not follow along on the journey of novice doctors as they strive for a more Seulgi day?
