Pianist Ji-eun Park (photo) will perform chamber music with a viola, flute, and piano trio at Carnegie Hall in the United States on May 14.
Winners of the Yale University School of Music competition will take the stage to perform Maurice Duruflé's Prélude, récitatif et variations.
Park began her relationship with the piano at the age of 3 in 2002 and entered Yewon School as the top student, graduating as the top of her class.
Following her Bachelor's degree from Seoul Arts High School and Seoul National University School of Music, she completed her Master of Music (MM) and Master of Musical Arts (MMA) at Yale University. Recently, she was accepted into the Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) program.
The Yale DMA program is designed to cultivate musicians who possess both theoretical knowledge and performance skills. Notable alumni include Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer David Lang and former president of the Juilliard School Joseph William Polisi. This year, only two pianists were given the opportunity to be accepted into the program.
