A 'Korea 360' event will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to experience Hallyu and Hallyu-related products. This is the second event following Indonesia in 2022.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 11th that it will hold the opening ceremony of the Hallyu-related overseas promotion hall 'Korea 360 (KOREA 360)' in Dubai, UAE, on the 11th and 12th in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Startups.
Korea 360 is a space where visitors can experience K-content and Korean culture and can experience and purchase products from Hallyu-related industries, including agricultural and fishery products, cosmetics, and design goods.
Korea 360 first opened in Indonesia in 2022. It attracted 1.59 million visitors in a single year, generating approximately 2.7 billion won in revenue.
On this day, the second Korea 360 opened in the UAE. It has been established in the Festival Mall, a key commercial area in Dubai, covering an area of 1,606 square meters (approximately 485 pyeong).
The UAE Korea 360 consists of a large event space called the 'Main Atrium,' a space to experience Korean culture and content, and a space to exhibit and sell related industry products such as food, cosmetics, and consumer goods. There will also be spaces where visitors can experience popular Korean content such as karaoke, photo booths, games, and webtoons.
Kim Hyun-jun, Director of International Cultural Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, 'To spread global interest in K-content to related industries, the six ministries have joined forces to prepare for the opening of the overseas promotion hall,' adding, 'I hope the opening of the UAE Korea 360 will serve as a stepping stone for the spread of Korean culture in the Middle East and for the expansion of exports of Korean products.'
